Exciting opportunity for Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) to help manage our 71-bed Mertome Aged Care Home, located in Bayswater. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.

 

About the role 
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, and supported by a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be instrumental in the development and implementation of procedures to ensure each resident's clinical and care requirements are met, while providing clear communication to families. Your clinical and leadership experience will be invaluable as another key focus of your role is delivering clinical supervision to our team of Registered Nurses.

Your well-honed communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills are easily demonstrated when leading inter-disciplinary teams, as well as providing relationship-centred care that ensures the dignity and respect of all residents.

 

What you'll bring 

  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor or higher) in Nursing and AHPRA registration
  • Extensive experience as a nurse in the aged care sector
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to provide instruction to nurses and build strong relationships with residents and their families
  • Eagerness to learn and develop management skills
  • Full working rights in Australia
